Implications Of The Spirit In The Details Of Our Life
Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives. That means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more interesting things to do with our lives. Each of us is an original. I'm a details person. Planning things is an important part of everything I do. So much satisfaction comes from making a list of chores or items to do and then crossing out each task as it is accomplished. For me, lists are a way to make sure I'm not missing any of the details.
Today's scripture speaks to this idea of details. But these details are not items to cross off on a to-do list, but rather the details of our lives that speak to how we are living the life of following Christ.
