Little Black Dress Series #3-Very Casual

debbiethisandthat.com
Hello friends!  I'm finishing up my three part series on my Little Black Dress by showing how I styled the LBD very casually. If you missed my other two LBD posts be sure to check them out. In my first post I showed how I styled the dress formally and in the second how I styled the dress semi-casually

One thing I can say about this dress is how versatile it is to style! I can honestly tell you that no matter how I style it, I am comfortable from start to finish!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, this dress is by Premise and was purchased at Stein Mart. I love the fact that I can stretch my clothing budget by styling this dress so many different ways!

Here's how I created this very casual look:

  • Jewelry was kept to the bare minimum with only earrings, one stretch bracelet and a scarf instead of a necklace.
  • I'm wearing my comfy Walmart brand striped tennis shoes. They add  a little fun to my style!
  • I'm carrying a blue and white striped beach tote rather than a purse. It holds everything I need for a casually busy day!
  • To ward off the sun's rays and add one more note of "casual" I'm wearing my Steve Madden fedora hat. Do you wear hats? They can add an element of fun to your fashion!
  • Note that although I have a blue theme running throughout this outfit, my accessories are not "matchy, matchy" and that's perfect for a very casual look!

So, what do you think about styling a dress three ways? Here's a collage review of the three looks. Which do you like best?

Hope you'll leave me your comments. And please be sure to stop back by on Friday when I will be joining in a Summer Tablescape Blog Tour hosted by Katherine's Corner. And, of course, hope you'll join me for Saturday Scriptures!

Until Next Time,
Debbie

I really like the super casual look too Debbie! So hard to choose a favorite...I think I'd go with the formal for my favorite, but that could be because that's where I am at the moment since I'm at work! If I was home I'd pick one of the casuals! : ) I have a very similar dress and like it styled all kinds of ways. I think the main thing here is to have such a versatile dress that you can do all these things with. It can transition into cooler weather with jackets. I do wear hats occasionally. I love hats! Where I live you never see women in hats and that's too bad. I'm one of those people who don't like to call attention to myself or stand out, so I don't wear them as often as I'd like. I plan to wear a hat to Friday night football coming up, because we have some weeks before the cold hits where we're in the sun and it's still hot. Definitely wearing a hat no matter what! This was a fun post. It would be fun to see more of these!

Thanks, Karen! I'd like to do more of thest type posts. Just will have to shop my closet to see what's available! Like you, I wear hats cautiously because of the "stand out" part, but I really like how they look and want to brave up and wear them more! I saw a hat at an antique shop that was from around the 40's or 50's with beautiful netting. Oh my....would I wear it if I bought it?! It was rose color and so pretty, though!!

This is yet another fantastic look created from the same Little Black Dress! I really like all three looks and have enjoyed this series so much! I do love hats but apart from the wooly hats I wear in the colder weather, I rarely wear any others, for the very same reason as Karen and yourself, because they are not popular where I live and I don't like drawing attention to myself. I'd love them to become more popular if they did I would definitely wear them.
