How To Wear Gray, Blue and Plaid Together

Mixing Colors and Textures For Fall

Hello everyone!  I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and if you didn't celebrate Thanksgiving where you live yesterday, I hope you enjoyed a wonderful day! Today, I'm mixing colors and textures together to create what I think is a pretty outfit for Fall.

This outfit started with the gray sweater and blue jeans that I had on earlier today with an orange/red shirt underneath. I was wearing this outfit while browsing through online sales on the computer and I thought to myself, "My goodness, I have so many clothes already, let me play in the closet a little and see what goes together nicely." So, I decided to see how my new plaid heels would feel with socks on (wonderful!!) and how they would look with the gray and blue. I think this outfit looks quite nice together. What do you think?

But wait, I'm not done yet! A little bling never hurts, so I added a black/silver swirl bracelet.

This is such a pretty bracelet and takes the style up a notch in my opinion.

And then, for a little extra "oomph" I added a navy blue poncho to the look. The frilled edges are quite feminine and go well with the gray, blue and plaid.

The solid colors mix well with the plaid colors and texture of the shoes to create an interesting look.

Now, go look in your closet and play a little with mixing colors and textures of pieces you already own. You may find, like I did, that new outfits can be created without buying anything new!! Hope you'll leave a comment and let me know about your Thanksgiving, a new outfit or what your favorite element of my outfit is. I look forward to hearing from you!

Until Next Time,
Debbie

You look sharp yet comfortable. I'm a 60's child and still love ponchos - looks great!

What a nice way to mix what you have in your closet! I like all your choices, but I really like that poncho.

Hi Debbie - I feel the same way when I see all the sales. I have soooo many clothes and not enough places to wear them all! I've made a decision to not buy anything else until I wear a few things out. I'll replace things that are getting ratty and maybe treat myself occasionally, but meanwhile I'll play around with combinations like you've done here. Those plaid shoes definitely add an element of fun to your different outfits (noticed them in your Christmas outfit post too!)

There are those fabulous shoes!! This looks so nice, and I love that poncho!! Like you, I'm using what I have, and it's fun putting different things together that maybe we've overlooked before! Thank you for the inspiration!!

Thank you Carol, Sharon, Bettye, Leanne and Karen for your sweet comments about my post!! I am definitely going to wear that poncho more (and those shoes!!) since everyone seems to like the look! I must be honest that I did order a skirt and top for my birthday (although half price off!!) so I wasn't completely innocent of ordering anything new this weekend! Oh well, I'm trying to not buy new things (wink)!!
