How to Wear Animal Print Without It Overwhelming You

Subdued Animal Print

Hey friends! I'm a little late coming to the wearing of animal print party which has been popular for awhile now. To be honest, I always felt that the print might be overwhelming if I wore it as a main article of clothing. That's why I'm styling this outfit using animal print as an accessory with my handbag and shoes.

This leopard print handbag is fun to carry. It is also roomy without being super big to carry and the zipper makes it easy to get into quickly.

These copper color flats by euro sofft sport three subtle snakeskin bands across the toe area. I'm not a huge fan of snakeskin, so subtle is good! These shoes are the "Shaina" style and are very, very comfy!! See similar here.

Animal print goes well with this shirt-style dress. I couldn't get the light quite right when shooting photos to show the exact dress color. It's sort of a cross between olive and brown. The criss-cross ties and front pockets are ornate enough, so there is no need for a necklace. I like the comfort of this style and how the sleeves can be turned up with a loop to secure them. This is an easy dress to wear, which is what I like. I cut the tags out, so I have no idea what the brand name is. I found a similar one I'll show below, although it looks much shorter than the one I'm wearing.

This one is available at Belk.

Sometimes, subtle is good for certain styles and that's how I roll with animal print. I hope you'll join me for my next post, because I'm going to share some of my secrets for finding economical ways to add style to your accessories without breaking the bank. Everyone loves a bargain, right?!

Do you wear animal print? Do you prefer to wear animal print on your clothing or as accessories? Hope you'll take a moment to share. I can't wait to hear from you!

Until Next Time,
Debbie

Debbie, your outfit is perfect for fall! I always enjoy that shade of green in the fall and putting a little bit of leopard with it is great!

I love leopard shoes and have a pair or two for every season. They are my neutral. :)

I like that dress a lot, and your nod to the animal prints is exactly the way I would do it. I know they are immensely popular and also classic. I would do what you did and use it with accessories or shoes. I did at one time have a snakeskin print dress that I loved, believe it was from Talbots, but it was one of those things that was too memorable, if that makes sense. It seemed that every time I wore it to work people would say "oh, there is that dress!" and I'd feel like I wore it too much, even when I didn't. I know what you mean about the color of your dress, and that is so perfect for transitioning to fall. Things that are easy to wear tend to go a lot of places and fit a lot of occasions in our lives. Can't wait for the next feature because yes, I love a bargain!!

Debbie, both your dress and shoes seem like they would be so versatile, and the animal print handbag adds just the right touch. I'll look forward to your next post since I like to shop with budget in mind.

It's a great idea to use a trend as a accent if you're uncomfortable "wearing" it. That's how I feel about gingham. I just can't wear it cause I feel like I'm wearing a tablecloth or I look like Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz", but I can carry a gingham bag or wear gingham shoes!
